WLCI Fashion School Salutes the Legend

Dilip Kumar's life, times and career spanning 60 films is the subject a new book named - 'The Substance and the Shadow'.

It was launched by superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Dharmendra at a glittering, star-studded event in Mumbai last week. Dilip Kumar a 'Star' and a fashion icon of his times, said that the book was an account of the 91-year-old life in first person, has been written with author Uday Tara Nayar.

WLCI Fashion School takes a look at the history of tattoo. Tattooing has been practiced for centuries throughout the world. The oldest evidence of extant tattooing on preserved skin dates to 6000 BC on the South American Chinchorro mummy.

It has always existed in various cultures and various tribes as a fashion or accessory element or sometimes perhaps as a part of a ritual. Since the 1970s, tattoos have become a mainstream part of global and Western fashion, common among both sexes, to all economic classes, and to age groups from the later teen years to middle age.
