WLCI’s Tanusree and Her Trousseau



Talent is found in abundance in WLCI Fashion Technology College.
Tanusree Sarkar, alumni from WLCI Fashion Technology College, Kolkata, has made many a head turn by exhibiting her creativity and design prudence in her trousseau collection.
She comes from the land of rivers and weavers- Bengal and brings with her the old world charm and creates a fusion between, old world charisma and contemporary chic, effortlessly. Her clothes bring a fresh perspective to fashion and range from being heavily embroidered to casual chic outfits.

Her cuts, stitches and designs have made a quite a ripple in the design world. She started as a fashion technology trainee and during her college years she gained knowledge and exposure to the various nuances of fashionable trousseau creation. She worked with various well-known designers and picked up many artistic guidelines from them. Tanusree went solo and her designs are bright and lively and her style goes from pleasantly casual to be plunged in heavy embroidery work -to be worn at special occasions.
Recently one of her work was chosen for the ‘Save the Tigers Initiative by Aircel' at the ‘Lakme Fashion Week’:

Tanusree’s creations have a lot of research work behind them coupled with hard work. Off late Tanusree has shifted her base from Kolkata to Delhi and in tie-up with retail stores like ‘Mogra’, ‘Fuel’ and ‘Baidehi’ have been providing her unique and exquisite “Tanusree” collection to her customers and fashion connoisseurs alike.

Her trousseau exhibits a range from being simple cuts to riot of colors to heavily gold embroidered work for culling silhouettes. Some her wedding collection exhibits antique gold work and represents the old-world grandeur and charm. You require to perceive the fabrics, lehenga’s and sarees personally to admire their handiwork and elegance. Tanusree’s recently launched “Princess” collection gives every a girl a scope to look like one on her wedding day. This collection has been specifically created for the ‘brides’ and provides a range of heavily embroidered collection to look ‘very special’ on your ‘special’ day. 

Tanusree’s work has also featured in ‘Wedding Asia’ exhibition and her work got featured in the ‘Apparel Magazine’ in November 2013, edition.

Her taste in ‘rich palette’ and ‘eloquent designs’ have acquired applauds from all quarters of the Indian Fashion World.
