Lakme Fashion Week 2013, Day 1 with WLCI students

The students from WLCI Fashion, Mumbai had a wonderful time exploring the behind the scenes of the Lakme Fashion Week 2013 along with Nutan Ma'am. This exposure to the last minute preparations, planning as well as the process to a fashion event that is attended by the celebrities of the fashion world was truly a unique experience for the students.

Rajesh Pratap Singh in WLCI


On 20th May 2013, WLCI,  Delhi, Fashion Department had the honor of meeting Mr. Rajesh Pratap Singh an ace fashion designer whose designs can be best described  as an obsessive attention to detail, simple yet complicated, modern yet traditional. He belongs to Rajasthan and subsequent to his graduation from NIFT Delhi, he worked in the fashion industry before starting his own line of men’s and women’s clothing. He has over the years  created h is unique signature style that subtly draws from his Indian roots to craft artisanal garments that stand apart due to their faultlessly clean lines, careful detailing and international silhouettes. His work epitomizes simplicity, but on closer look reveals his obsessive attention to detail. There are many revival initiatives he has been associated with.

- Designer of the year at GQ Men of the year awards in 2009
- Designer of the year named by Elle in 2007
- Kingfisher designer of the year award in 2001 and 2005
